The brand promise

The packaging does more than just protect the product

Pet owners expect quality, safety and ease of use. The packaging protects the product’s properties throughout the entire supply chain and helps to preserve flavour, freshness and brand trust.

Our paper solutions are designed to meet the requirements of the pet food industry and can be produced in both recyclable and machine-compatible formats.

One intriguing question remains: will plastic still be the right solution in future, and how can process reliability be ensured when switching to paper?

Your benefits

Paper-based packaging with a reduced plastic content is high-performance, suitable for machine processing and recyclable. Thanks to its strong barrier properties, it reliably protects your products, whilst you benefit from a high-quality surface finish, good printability, stable machine operation and reliable sealability.

Tried and tested, because every application is different

The proof of application

  • How does paper protect against damp?

Depending on the product, with a water vapour barrier tailored precisely to your application.

Risk: Moisture penetrates, causing the product to lose its crispness.
Solution: A barrier coating whose water vapour permeability we tailor to the requirements of your product.
Verification: Measurement of water vapour permeability (WVTR at 23 °C and 50 per cent relative humidity) and testing using samples of your product.

  • How does paper retain fat and flavour?

Depending on the product, with barrier coatings against grease and oxygen.

Risk: Grease seeps through; oxygen alters flavour and quality.
Solution: A combined grease and oxygen barrier, with an additional MOSH/MOAH barrier on request.
Verification: KIT test for the grease barrier, OTR measurement for the oxygen barrier, and testing using samples of your product.

  • Can paper be processed on existing packaging lines?

Our barrier films are optimised for existing packaging lines. Major modifications are not usually necessary.

Risk: Malfunctions during forming, sealing or filling.
Solution: Where necessary, we adapt the process and individual components, such as the mould shoulder.
Verification: Machine trials under real-world conditions.

  • How recyclable are barrier papers?

Barrier papers are verifiably recyclable and assessed in accordance with a recognised standard.

Risk: Uncertain disposal and regulatory risks, such as those arising from the EU Packaging Directive (PPWR).
Solution: Depending on the product, a paper content of 80–95 per cent and a material-efficient coating that separates cleanly from the fibre during recycling.
Verification: Assessment in accordance with CEPI 4evergreen.
